Site formation is a basic building block of archaeology: it is by analysis of this sequence through excavation that permits interpretation, which should in turn lead to discussion and understanding. Learn about the various forms such as Material Activity, Construction, Deposition, Re-deposition, Natural action and Decay.

Successful completion of this course shows an understanding of the subject and allows a sign off at novice level on the Site Formation Processes section in the Archaeology Skills Passport
